“There are many people in Dubai anxious to support the people in Nepal after the earthquake either through financial support or donating physical items such as clothing, blankets.,” said the reader. “ Yet the recent changes in the laws around supporting charities has caused massive confusion.” Dr Hamad Al Shibani, director general of IACAD, said:
“The UAE is one of the first countries that responded to the aid calls in Nepal and concerned delegations are currently on the ground providing help. “Any individual, private entity or a public body should approach any of the Red Crescent branches to contribute.” The first cargo flight took off on Tuesday carrying 90 tonnes of aid, including water purifications units, blankets, tents tarpaulin and solar lamps.
